United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Java Black
timing belt

dear FFRR team

is the td6 2005 chain or belt timing belt, are all td6's upto 2012 chain or belt. Im a bit confused ?

If chain would it need a replacment at around 100thousand miles.

Ive checked wiki... but cant find.... or is it me being thick.
somebody point me in right direction... please?

the TD6 was replaced in about 2007ish by the TDV8 (first 3.6 then 4.4) which are belt drive i believe.

TDV6's (not used in the L322, but were in the Sport and later L405) are Belt driven.

Australia 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Atacama Sand

The 3.6 tdv8 in RRS & RRV has a timing chain.

The tdv6 2.7 & 3.0 in a RRS has front and rear belt. I think a similar 3.0 tdv6 has carried over to the L405 & L494.

Im not sure about the tdv8 4.4 in the L322 & L405. However I assume it's also got a timing chain. ______________________________

NONE of the engines used in any L322 models use a timing belt sir. They are all chain driven... Very Happy

But don't let that fool you into thinking they are indestructible.

The M62 suffers from guide failure - resulting in a destroyed engine. Does the TD6 or TDV8 have any tensioners or chain guides etc?
