Rear washer mod

Ok looks like I got to do the mod on the rear wiper washer......water leaking on to parcel shelf!

I took off the trim and low and behold brown water on the inside of trim and plastic outlet on wiper motor... Big Cry

Now my question is has anyone done this mod AND its worked well so stop this reoccurring?

http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic9924.html If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

I bought the washer but had to fit both the old and new to get it to seal. Also remember to put the bolts back in the spoiler - that still hurts Very Happy Geoff

So, having a go at the wiper mod this afternoon, all was good with the seal and putting the wiper motor back on the tail gate, check it works and a nice squirt of water from the jet, thought I'd try it once more before putting the spoiler back on and.......... Censored it Censored water on the boot floor Big Cry Big Cry

Ok so off it comes again and this time the seal is now turned round so the retaining spring is facing inside the plastic housing and some silicon sealant to assist sealing to the outer casting..............I just need to test it in the morning to see if all is well OR not! Fingers crossed. If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

Just checking

I've been looking at this tonight and wondering if it's the same problem on mine.
There's nothing coming out of the rear washer so I took the bits behind the plastic to try and fault find.

Took the supply to the plastic block (non return valve?) off and had water flow on demand from the stalk.
Had a play with the NRV, (looks like it comes apart but not sure how) put it back on and removed the flow from it to the washer, again got water when the washer stalk was activated. All ok so far so cleared the jets on the wiper itself and reconnected the pipes.

Result - brown water all over the boot and p Censored g out of the wiper mechanism.

Is this the same or do you have water coming out of the rear washer jets?? Currently - 55 FFRR S/C and loving it

Rolling with laughter what a pita!

I had the water come out of that plastic to cast part, the seal inside was warn, so I did the seal mod with a bit of silicon to seal the plastic and casting for extra sealant sa the first time refitting it leaked.
My wiper jets where blocked on one jet but one blow with the compressor soon cleared that, now both jets work well Very Happy .
At the moment all seems ok, I just hope it don't leak again all over the load cover as that was a Censored to clean up afterwards. If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

that's good to know for the next time, if it leaks again I just might get a new one...save all that hassle with taking motor off twice!

The washer was about £3 and a bit of time, a new motor £120? ish of the bay of e.....no comparison really if the fix works. If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

Are there any other recommended places to buy the right washer as the link leads to eBay but the seller seems to have run out?

Cheers
