Agreed DMRR and as per my earlier post, the LED bulbs I have look superb, however on a practical note they are less effective than the yellow OE OSRAM ones. I am keeping the LED cornering bulbs in for reasons of being less likely to melt the unit than OE and because they look better. They do work, they just don't throw as much light sideways as the halogen.

I don't know what the really good lamps you mean are, as people thought the bulbs I'd bought were not cheap and they were the dearest of a seemingly limited but safe rating that I've seen so far?

Thumbs Up

By really good I mean designed for the function (rear cooled projector LED's) - not an aftermarket fit sadly! Land Rover Addict

most of swindons roads were designed around roundabouts so you cant go far before you encounter one and these cornering lights are becoming a distraction for me..i'm following Ryans lead and replacing mine for leds as soon as i can..
btw, i replaced my OE yellow bulbs with cheap white light type halogens and they do project well.. ... - .- -.

Agreed too Stan. My wife does mostly urban/ motorway driving in this, rarely being on completely unlit country roads in the dark.

I've since tried to find 'projector' LED bulbs on the internet and can't so far see anything other than what I'd researched and eventually bought anyway. I've paid decent money for what I hope are kind to the car, well researched, high performing LED bulbs from 2 excellent, customer focused suppliers and AFAIK without resorting to the full 2010 onward facelift with the revisions those headlight units bring, this is about as good an off the shelf upgrade as I can hope for... and I'm happy with the results Thumbs Up

The LED cornering bulbs I've added are up to the job albeit not as bright as the OE 'yellow' halogen and... they won't melt the headlights. Thumbs Up

One thing to note - LED's do not give off heat like a traditional lamp but they DO get very hot - so be careful if you go to change them after they've been on!!! Land Rover Addict
