I think the best investment you can make is one that will give you quality time with your family, friends and away from work.
If it feels right, buy it. Tourers are ten-a-penny, you could get another anytime. If the static is in a place where you can chill then that sounds good.
A workmate of mine has done the same thing. He got rid of his tourer about 18 months ago and got a static in St. Andrews .
He does not miss the tourer as he always tended to go to the same site anyway! Previously..
