......so the air con stoppped working the other day(been icey cold since I started using it in spring), dropped it in at the local kwik fit for a re-gas and they told me the pressure check showed no leaks but the gas wasnt filling up the systemhey told me the compressor must have either gone or have a hole in it and I need an air con specialist to have a look (apparently they put some UV dye through the system)

Anyone had a similar experience and more importantly can anyone recommend an air con guy (pref rr guy) who can have a look at my car. I am in Ormskirk, Lancs

Air con not doing anything cool-wise, so got it regassed at Kwikfit. No reported leaks. Air con worked OK then, although it does switch on and off (fans) bewfore it gets going properly.

Whilst tooling down the motorway yesterday, air con took about 10 minutes from leaving home to get going, then worked for @ 20 mins. then slowly blew cool air. Started to smell a funny smell, then noticed the centre vents were blowing out smoke or vapour. Hit the * button !! Not tried it since. (It was a hot day, @ 28 degrees C, doing 70mph)

Any pointers to what is wrong - compressor? Something in the HEVAC? .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember
