Does it still have warranty? You may have 3 years which could be valid until later in '16.

If it is in warranty I would take it back and let them keep it until resolved. You (and they) have the history and there will be carbon Monoxide (CO) in those emissions. That is a very serious health hazard. I do not know the rules for handing something back but on the other topic page you were originally on one person did successfully. I'm looking into this as I can't drive the car. It's 18 days old etc.

There are 8000+ posts on here and I bet there are far more people than those presently discussing this. I wish they would speak up. 2016 Vogue SDV8

CO poisoning has been in the news around here. I only thought acute poisoning was a problem (I.e. Get to fresh air FAST and you're fine), but it seems that prolonged exposure can cause ongoing health concerns. Just something to bear in mind... Whistle

Mine smells of fuel when starting up and reversing off our drive. Hadn't noticed this thread until now - my car is due a service next month and I'll get the dealer to look at it. 2024 Range Rover P550e AB

I have a 15.5MY SDV8 L405 and a 16MY SDV6 L494. No issues on the L405 but intermittent issues for the L494 with very high levels of fumes. This is normally not after a FBH operation but when it comes on to assist cold starts on a normal day.

LR assist came out when I first got it and said the issue had reared its head for 16MY again post some changes. Their solution was to pull the fuse!

Sounds a typically LR response - maybe they need to buy some German engineers.

I'd be interested in knowing what this 'fix' is.

Mine is undriveable and is still with the dealer. I've owned it for 28 days and have had very little use of it. I think LR should own up to what this problem actually is as, if it is diesel fumes, this could cause serious problems.

It would be mega useful of others would get into this discussion. I've added more comments to rangerovers.net. 2016 Vogue SDV8

Well mine smells *gasoline* when the temperature is below 6 degrees C - when i drive backwards and when i am stopped at a red-light towards a hill - as soon as i drive forward it disappears - i agree with you that the car shouldn't smell like this from the inside.... Ryan

You've PM'd me to let me know that you are a genuine LR employee.

Basic question: Why does LR not come forward and define what these emissions are that many people experience?

Starting to get headaches when driving my car on cold days. Not sure if it's a coincidence.

Maybe we should put carbon monoxide detectors in the cabin? Then they may take us seriously? Or are they waiting for someone to die?

Our 5.0sc AB eventually went back when the dealer admitted defeat over the continued gasoline smell in the cabin. Circumstances of it sound very similar to those of our German correspondent.

Not had such a problem in car since carburettors bit the dust.

To their credit, LR returned our money.
