Coolant change - does this disturb the LPG system?

Hi all,

I am looking to do a coolant change on my M62-engined RR soon as I dont know the age or condition of the current antifreeze. However, I am aware that LPG systems use a water heater to preheat the gas before injection.
Are these systems separate (ie. it works via a heat exchanger with the engine) or does the engine coolant actually divert through the LPG gubbins? If the latter, what procedure do I need to follow to refill and bleed it properly?

Just the normal procedure to change the coolant, it will self bleed fine on it's own...

Refill the system slowly as they are prone to air locks, and check it for a few days afterwards... this is nothing to do with the LPG though...

Pete, would it be best to do that on petrol though? Doesn’t the water temp effect the gas/petrol turn over point?

Don't think it will make much difference Craig, If converted properly (and most are these days) the take off for the vaporiser is teed from the heater pipes so that the water flows correctly, as the heater flow is not controlled by the thermostate it doesn't usually get an air lock unless the system has been mounted too high in the engine bay, Matt's look low enough so he shouldn't have any problem, it looks like he's also got twin vaporisers so it would work OK even if very cold... Thanks chaps - so by sharing the heater water, the system will drain and refill as normal when the coolent is replaced carefully? (or is the heater system's water separated from the engine's water?) NW060
