All i had left to do was a REMAP

After changing the Fuel and Air Filter, then the Thermostat all in a bid to squeeze a little more than the 21.9 Mpg i was getting Sad

Success Thumbs Up

it rose to 23.1 Mpg

next was the Remap

A friend of mine does this and he plugged her in to draw off the Files to see what was what

Ba Censored stirt there is already a Remap from Angel Tuning on Her already !!!

just wonder how the Standard was before that was done?

Can you run a Tuning Box in Tandem with a Remap - await all the Technical gurus on that one Bow down '54 Adriatic Blue Vogue

I would be surprised if you can run the two in tandem, surely a remap would require a change to the map that exists.

What a bonus though... 4.2 Supercharged Vogue SE

Bloody hell, run a remap and a box, even if it worked it is likely to blow the turbo - most remaps up the boost pressures and fuelling - I would stay well clear of the box. An engine that's lunched on a turbo is not a pretty sight Sad

IMO the best thing you can do is get the GBox ECU remapped and blank off the egr and then clear out the inlet manifold from all the gunk thats been built up in it for 10years of recirculated dirty coked up air flowing into it.

IMO the gearbox is the biggest inhibitor to economy on a TD6 as below 50mph it is always slipping even if the TC tries to lock up its still slipping and wasting power.

When you sit on the motorway cruising at 50 or just over in a TD6 you can see it go past 30 and sometimes sit happily at 35 for a while. Even the TDV8's struggle to get a real world 30-35mpg so dont feel too bad.

If it matters that much flog it and get a 4.4v8 and LPG it Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Its not that being Scottish as you all think i am miserable
Yes we did invent copper wire by fighting over a 1p piece Razz
It is more of a challenge to get as much as i can with regards to MPG

My other car is a 944 S2 Cabriolet which is even worse than the FFRR but driven as if it is stolen with no regard for MPG, the environment, my carbon footprint or my Childrens Children (not old enough for the last one yet)

If its mpg you want, you may have the wrong map, one of my old RR's a 2006 TD6 used to return a consistent 27 mpg driven hard - she was remapped by JE and would do 60 in under 10s.

Agree with the above - My TD6 (2004) was remapped - nothing else has been done - no EGR blanking etc and I get 24 round town 29-31 on a motorway run.

I asked for the middle remap - a bit more power but a bit more mpg so best of both worlds. It's no slouch now either.

I wouldn't go the "power box" route on top of a remap TBH Ash

Agree - will investigate the remap side and see if i am set for Power

done the EGR blank already

not driven many FFRR TD6's so don't really know if i am benefitting from extra Power - it is nippy but last car was a 525TD BMW E60 which ran a Tuning box and i also have a 944S2 Porsche Cabriolet so maybe the little extra weight is making it feel a little slow compared to my last Big 4X4 - Jeep Cherokee 4.0 Petrol High Output which was like sh Censored t off a shovel but only gave 18 Mpg on a good day '54 Adriatic Blue Vogue
