Sat Nav time to desination

I can't for the life of me work out how to display this. My software seems to be different to that shown in the user guide (and rave)

How do I get the ETA displayed?? Tym

If it sticks, force it. If it breaks, it needs replacing anyway.

Does it say DVD on the front of the unit in white ?

The mk4 BMW unit was never fitted to our cars - it has to be retrofitted from a BMW.

Another way to tell - does it have off road navigation as an option on the menu ?

You lose that if you go to the later unit.

The only reason I ask is that I had the same issue, but I have a mk4 sat nav......

Here is a mk4 unit

Just read your other thread and it looks like you had exactly the same problem I have. I *don't* have navcoder and the bwmcable.com site is down. I did find http://bmwcables.co.uk/order.html though...

what do you plug into and where? Do you connect to the ODB2 socket (as I have cable for that) or directly into the DVD or... somewhere else? Tym

I have the blue cable, which was just over £20 if I remember right.

The cable you show will do it, and later cars according to the reading, but it's a bit more expensive.......

You will have to get the full version of navcoder too, but it's not a silly price. Around £20 again I seem to remember.

Have a look on the navcoder site or images on Google and you can see the options you can change etc.

It connects to the obd plug under the dash, and then to a laptop via USB. I use an old dell running xp.

If you are going near Chesterfield any time, you can change your setting with my kit.

Sorry, quick edit, you will need a specific bmw diagnostic cable which will work with navcoder. Standard ones will not. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Got it - thanks.

Tried my cable and navcoder won't open the port - keeps complaining and offering to inform the developer!

my ODBII cable works normally and I've reset the MIL as it's running a little lean (so it says) perhaps it doesn't like the LPG!! Think it just needs a tweak so will have to book it in with him.

I'll let you know how I get on when the cable arrives Tym

Turned out to need the "arrive at destination" un-ticking... as per your situation.

I don't have off road navigation as an option... Tym

Excellent. Don't know why you have to untick it to enable it.........

You will have the later Mk4 DVD based sat nav unit taken from a BMW then.

Much faster due to being DVD and not CD based and you can have a 3D perspective view which you prob already have enabled.

It never had the Off Road Navigation option, like the Land Rover specific firmware on the Mk3, but all that did was allow you to store waypoints on a journey off road so you could come back the same way - as far as I know anyway. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
