Door Handle Dissection

A question, as opposed to a "how to" . . .
Any advice from Forum members as to how to remove the plastic recessed knuckle plate from an L322 door handle ?
The whole assembly is off the car (and is in fact a spare).
So far, I've removed the three Torx screws fastening the hinge spring support to the said plate, together with the roll pin for the end of the handle.
I see just replacement handles are available - just can't work out how the blighters come off . . .
Limited physical abuse, lots of verbal abuse & head scratching so far have not worked.
Any ideas, anybody ?

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

Well, more head scratching and I have concluded major surgery is involved, ie removing the sprung pin Rolling Eyes

Pivot pin removed . . .

Can see how it's put together, but not taken apart . . .

As stated before, the handle alone can be bought as a separate part, but it would appear something needs to be sacrificed to replace it. mmm . . .

I was about to pull the trigger on a new set of handles but wondering if the stick on covers or painting may be the way to go.

I'm tempted to go for an on-car (with handles pre-pulled and wedged,) a rub down, masking, prime and brunel grey repaint.
as I'm not a fan of the dull matt finish it will be clear laquer on top. I will repaint my step trims also.
maybe I might even take some pics....

Looking forward to it. My handles and back plates all need colour coding to the car and was thinking of an on the car job. Tom
