Arrived today, did the swap over this evening. No real dramas. Existing condenser was also a replacement, not LR, appears to have "gone" in the same place as the OP. Also that corner seems to be a leaf and bug magnet, so took some time to clean out this and the opposite corner, scraping with a wire coat hanger and vacuuming out. I removed the electric fan cover for better access.

Oh, my new condenser had the drier fitted. You can tell by the fact that the left hand bottom corner is sealed with a plastic hex plug, and if you tip the condenser up and down you feel a gentle thud. My new condenser also had threaded studs fitted where the two allen key bolts go. I removed these using the time honoured two nut method. Support the rectangular block with hands or adjustable spanner if applying any pressure to prevent damage.

I gave the bottom end and all the brazed joints a good greasing with general purpose grease before refitting. New one slid back in nicely and all put back together.

Off for a regassing, hopefully and cool interior. .

i did mine a while back as I was changing the water pump, and took the water rad out, therefore not removing the slam panel. grill was off from memory. no dramas, but those union bolts, sure are tight. give em a soaking, and another just before you turn em. I think I had to get some moles on one...I had to change out my pump too at same time, (about £250 online) so water rad out as necessary. -only three bolts. jobs still a good-un.

its a new luxury -picking air-con bogeys!

I have been having air con problems. Bought a UV torch and discover bright green dye on the bottom corner of the condenser. Going to replace thanks to this handy DIY. Did you use any special air con oil on the o rings? 2012 4.4TDV8 VSE

Thanks Welshdragon. What am I pulling up? The aluminium air con pipes that connect to the condenser?
Did you need to do no nothing with the drier? Going to give it ago, deliberating over ordering one from autoaircon for £80 or a Nissens one from eBay for £132. Both 2 year warranty. Thanks again. 2012 4.4TDV8 VSE

The drier should be included/built in to the condenser - other end to the connections - white plastic six sided plug. If you tilt the new/old unit you should hear a clunk. .
