Or...............go back to the warranty company and say "LR Technical recommended a new gearbox so that is what I want please!". If a "double flush" was going to fix this why did LRT not suggest it?

You may, just may, get the warranty company to realise that a flush is a waste of time and false hope and that they are just clutching at straws. I don't hold out too much hope were any warranty company is involved but it's worth a try! He who shouts loudest etc! 2006 4.2 SC

Did all that with them yesterday even had the dealership phone them and explain why it would achieve nothing to be honest I have enough to show that they are being unreasonable the last conversation I had with them this morning was along the lines this is your last chance to stop us going to war and I have a reply saying it is our policy to never reimburse for consumables but we may be able to compensate in a different way - lets see what happens but they are definitely softening which means in my book they have lost I might go for another years warranty free as my car is on 99786 miles or there a bouts
We shall see

I admire your tenacity on this - I'm sure it will be worth it.
A main dealer attempted to mis sell a FF to me a few years ago.
I bypassed the franchise and went to LR.
Ultimately, I was well compensated.

Keep digging your heels in & good luck !

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

I am a fairly easy going sort of person unless I see injustice or arrogance and this lot are displaying both

When paying for anything be sure it write in block capitals PAID UNDER PROTEST on your paperwork and theirs.

Let's hope it doesn't get to legal stages but that makes it clear that you were not happy about the transaction. Thumbs Up 2006 4.2 SC

Right chaps another update so we had the dual flush (paid for me under protest) and the results were quite strange so instead of a 2 second delay then thud in kick down all appeared good until the box was really hot then it wouldn't move up gears after kick down and subsequent deceleration so it was holding gear and banging into gear virtually every time. So if driven like and angel (not our one on here) it is fine ask it to perform and it goes nuts my conclusion is it is female Very Happy Anyway the warranty company are sending another assessor to have a look when I asked for the one who had been previously he was on holiday yet today when I rang from a different no he is not ah well . I have not mentioned anything about the reimbursement and won't until I have the car fixed then they can expect a small demand Twisted Evil
Will keep you informed

Right gents update
The warranty assessor arrived at the dealership today at mid day I took him out for test drive and very quickly he said this is a pressure loss problem you need a new gearbox Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up so hurdle no 1 done and dusted so back to the dealership where he told the service agent to open a new job file and gave her the claim no. Now as has been mentioned the limit is 3000 plus VAT so 3600 the gearbox quote I had was in the region of 6k including VAT all up ( it is in the office so can't give exact figures) So we take out the 858 inc vat for the double flush and filter etc that they wanted doing so we are about 5100 inc vat when mr Warranty man says too much and they want the warranty rate applied and not list price so it comes down to £3900 they will pay £3600 so my balance is £300 which I accept as it is costing me £300 for a brand new warrantied gearbox torque converter the lot. Now I hear you say yes well what about the £858 well the dealership has just phoned and told me they are to add it to the bill for the gearbox and refund me the money but are in no way to show it as diagnostics ,. so result Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Very Happy Very Happy
On another completely separate issue have the boat in the boat yard for service work and repairs estimate 6k today sent info to insurance co they have agreed to pay for everything bar the service now isn't it a pity that the lottery isn't on tonight I am on a roll.
