Engine system failure

Today I had the message Engine System Failure come up on the dash briefly after some hard acceleration, there was a small drop in power barley noticeable and when I slowed down it cleared and has not reoccurred, any ideas?

I was getting the same fault alarm when I started from cold. I took it to the garage and they put it on the computer which showed code P132E turbo boost control B performance. They cleared the fault and it has only come back once in the last month. When I googled the fault code mine appears to be the turbo actuator which was sticking and apparently they can be sprayed with wd40 or similar to help.
I'm not suggesting that yours is the same fault as the Engine system failure is a common alarm however I would recommend taking it somewhere so that you can get the fault code out of the system rather than have hundreds of people tell you what it might or might not be. Terry

Turbo actuator sticking, or a split turbo hose. Both very common Thumbs Up

Any black smoke ?

I've had it a couple of times with split turbo hoses, but goes into limp mode - clears up after a restart, but noticeable black smoke on acceleration.

No black smoke and it has not re occurred so I think sticking actuator, I don't think it had been over 3500rpm much

Being someone who already had both of them....

The turbo actuator make a double ping and the car just drops on power. Gets very lethargic. it's a real pain to replace, as it always happens with the tdv8, everything must come out to replace them. Think around 10hrs to replace a 2 min replacement.

The hoses make a single ping and the car reverts to safe mode where you can't go over 40kph. Easy fix, 10 mins.
