Does a new instrument cluster need programming to the car?

Just a quick question , someone might know the answer, if I get a brand new instrument cluster ( speedo etc) will it need programming to the car before it works ? Or are they just plug in and use?

If its the hole assembly, speedo , rev counter etc then yes, if just the ribbon for the pixles then no. If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

Yes it has to be programmed with your VIN, and cannot be re-programmed into another car (i.e. they have no second hand value... Forum members take note Thumbs Up )

Hi all, I bought a second hand one for my 02 TD6, and it worked fine, displayed mileage was from the car it came from, otherwise was fine, I found it straight forward to fit.
