Remote locking drivers door L322

Hello all

I had 2 main problems when I bought my L322 that being the rear windscreen wiper and the central locking on the drivers door. The windscreen motor was replaced and is now functional again after I purchased a new one and followed the excellent wiki procedure on how to fit it. Result Very Happy
The central locking issue appears a bit more complex ( to me anyway).....

When you operate the central locking all the doors lock except the drivers door. To lock the drivers door I then open the door, push down the button manually then shut the door - all doors are now locked. To unlock the car, press the unlock on the remote then all the doors open except the drivers door - which can then be opened from the inside.

So my question is.......what controls the drivers door central locking ? I'm a bit puzzled as I would have thought either the central locking was working or it was not ? Is it a separate fuse which controls the drivers door ?

cheers

The drivers door should go as well so it is more likely to be something internal in the door or a wiring/connector issue.

Does the central locking work when you use the button on the dash ?? If yes, the wiring is OK and mechanically it is OK and for some strange reason the drivers door won't unlock.

If you hear the lock go but not open the door the connection between the actuator and lock is gone.

If you don't hear anything in the door, it could be wiring/actuator/connector related.

I have had both rear door latches replaced because of this issue.

Rears were just over £100 each plus fitting.

I assume the fronts work the same.

Hope this may help...... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Thanks for the replies gents.

Ebajema.......The central locking works using the button on the dash for all doors except the drivers. I dont't hear anything from the drivers door when the central locking is activated.

mjdronfield.......I can open the door okay from the inside after locking it manually - were these the same as your symptoms ? The door latch works okay from the inside !!!! Odd.

When I first got the car it worked intermittently but now it's completely goosed.

You are making me think now.....

I am pretty sure mine worked ok manually, as you'd have big issues opening the door to get the door card off to change the latch.

It's the bit where the central locking works the latch. Mechanically using the door handle it will be fine, as that does not use the central locking part.

Of course it could be simple, but from what you say, pretty sure mine was the same.

Drivers side rear door stopped working on Central locking, which got sorted and then about 5 or 6 months later the opposite rear door did the same.

It could be fixable if you strip it all down, but warranty paid for both mine as I pay annually for it.

Mine started intermittently, but that only lasted about a week..... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Zoso, is it just the locking which is not working or are some of the other controls also broken? (eg one touch windows, mirror adjustment)

I ask because I had a similar problem after replacing my drivers door cable - pretty much everything worked except my drivers door Central locking

See my posts on Cappo's thread here
http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic25649.html

Mine turned out to be the 'big' connector not being fully seated (you really have to push it home) - also see Powerful UK's YouTube guide to taking the door card off - it's pretty straightforward and you'll see what I mean re the 'big connector'

Good luck! 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

GraemeC.........everything works except the drivers door central locking so it's sounds the same issue as you and Cappo had. I assume the "big connector" is the one on the youtube guide he had to use a screw driver to release !!

Well I'll have a go tomorrow afternoon and give all the connectors a spray with "Deoxit D5".

cheers

Im afraid it sounds like the latch assembly is goosed sir... Think yourself lucky its not decided to pack up in the deadlocked position otherwise the door would simply not open! Fancy cutting to get it open then Neutral

I wouldn't bother trying to electrically spray it as if you do manage to get some of it to work, sods law says it will be the deadlock facility Shocked Then you would be in a worse position than you are now sir Whistle Thumbs Up
