Pets.....who would give them up.....

So this evening just got back from the vets, now lighter in the pocket after what my dog ate....

All day we've been outside, her playing with the horse, more like horse chasing dog away Laughing as well as dog mousing....digging looking for little mice, but never far away and came back when called and me just splitting and moving wood around ready for the cold winter nights Thumbs Up

Then I spot dog lying down not far from me away, not doing much...... thinking what are you eating now.....OH Censored , she's near where rat poison was placed this morning. I rush down to her and....sure enough shes only just dug a hole and ate a block of the dreaded stuff Shocked Shocked

Quick dash to the vets and get her sorted out.
She's ok after that experience but was lucky as the poison hadn't dissolved into her, now sleeping it off next to the wood burner....will she learn.....I doubt it!

Bloody dog, I remember when we didn't have any pets, life was .......well not as interesting!, I wouldn't be without a dog even if she does stupid things like today !

Anyone else had that what have you done moment with your pets and would you give them up for a life of freedom ? If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

Everyday when I get home and the two dogs are still there breathing - wife's dogs! Although I wanted a dog to begin with but their a pain in the bum. Dog hairs, dog smell, barking to name a few irritations!!! Oh and we have two ponies as well so more ties - hence why we haven't had a holiday in 6 years.

I like animals ....but not owning them Very Happy

I'd give up everything I own before I'd give up my boy.

A dog is for life.

I had cats for years and loved them. I would have a dog yesterday, but I'm at work all day.

They are well behaved but would be nice to be animal free for a while. I suspect the wife would kick me out before the dog Laughing

We got four dogs, we can only have a holiday if we can get someone to house sit for us, they are a pain in the Arse sometimes, but we love them to bits

If you all love dogs have a trip over to Defender2.net and look at the dogs in Land Rovers section (off topic) 49 pages the last time I looked If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

Also we are happier to see grand dog visiting than the grandchildren they normally all turn up together but some times if they are going out for the day we get the dog dumped on us early doors, sunday morning alarm clock nutty spainiel jumping on you in bed with the grown up children running off laughing. If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

She's definitely part of the family here, just got back from shopping and she's back to how she should be, not like a few hours back sleeping it off after the vet visit

@ Kurt, I might have to get a cat to catch the rats.....might save me a few quid with the rat poison been dug up and eaten by the dog.......and hiding the pick axe and shovel is not working with this hound, she keeps finding them Laughing

Stan, does the Mrs Stan know this.... Rolling with laughter

Dogs on sofas Wink .....Mrs WD does NOT like the dog on our sofa but gets over ruled Laughing ,.....but you can never guess where she is now.......black dog on black sofa....noooo she not there, you cant seen her, curled up next to me Mr. Green

Joking aside, just one block of poison will, if not induced vomiting the dog, is fatal and sure to die, was lucky that I saw her and not a few hours later........I just cant think what the kids would of thought in the morning if not caught her in the act Sad

Great pictures of your dogs guys, love em Bow down Thumbs Up Thumbs Up If it dont work.......burn it!
