Just as a side note, the bonnet switch is made so you can lift the plunger 5mm or so whilst the bonnet is open to trick the system into thinking the bonnet is closed, for diagnostic purposes...

I rang a BMW wrecker about a used part, and the local Land Rover dealer about a replacement. Thanks for the suggestion about packing out the bonnet. But thought I might just replace it and keep it OEM. The dealer surprised me with a quote of $40 incl GST (or VAT). The cheapest I could find on eBay was about $40 incl postage from the US. Will see what it costs when I pick it up. ______________________________
