one click up and they go onto auto, there's a lever that adjusts sensitivity..the auto mode has to be switched back on each time the engine is switched off... ... - .- -.

Sometimes there is a type of rain that "lands" rather than falls, and this takes some encouragement/bravery to get the rain sensor to kick in, it is a bit like playing chicken |

Sounds like either you have a defective sensor (approx £45) or your car has had a cheap wind screen fitted with a poor quality sensor... |

Thanks Craog, that's what I thought. The auto lights don't always come on when it's pitch black, so it does sound like the sensor. |

I thought I heard on the D3 site that if you removed the fuse for the auto wipers it reverted back to manual intermittent. Is that true? I never tried as my D3 didn't have auto wipers. |

Or maybe the sensor clip's not latched in properly, has exactly those symptoms. Take the interior cover off, and make sure that the sensor is pressed into the fitting properly... The funny thing is, i had the same problem with one of my FF's after a replacement screen was fitted (not well) and the sensor was not clipped in place correctly...
