a question to those that might know, if i adjust my headlight beams so they both point right in front of me and to the middle of the left hand side road [like bmw flat beams] , will i need to use the tourist lever if i drive in europe.. ... - .- -.

Won't you still have the "pitch up" on the left side of the spread which would mean that even if you move everything to the right you would still have the likelihood of dazzling oncoming traffic.

I may have misunderstood what you are saying but it seems to me that using the "tourist" system would be much simpler.

As you know, it makes them flat beam and I use it here with no problems. It even passes the MOT equivalent. John

@john, agreed re using the tourist lever but my thoughts are to pull the nearside light to the right and the offside light to the left so they both project straight in front, unless the headlight glass it self stops this kind of beam pattern..

@sandy , the tourist lever is in each headlight and blanks off part of the beam so you dont dazzle the euro drivers.

Don't know whether the glass would affect it. As there is quite a bit involved with the headlights eg. level adjustment, I think you might run into complications.

As I said, you would still have the "pitch up" on the left beam and no flat top. John
