I think the part leaking and which the new figure 8 O-ring gasket seal is for is called the Oil Filter Housing.

If a new LR part/ figure of 8 oil filter gasket seal was fitted then oil still weeping from the figure 8 component mating face, what could be the issue?

No worries mate. Without seeing the actual part up close it is the best I can do, just based on years of tinkering with cars, hydraulics and the likes.

Based on some online research it seems the oil filter housing can be a common oil leak component on the RR?
