Let me know as at the minute we are shopping for either a FFRR or a D4.

I'm really swinging to the FFRR and have seen a few very nice VSE models.

I'd be interested how it goes. I've swapped from a D2 to a RR but haven't towed the tin tent yet and mines a large twin axle too Very Happy

D2 - No comparison, FF is a different and much better beast. I too looked the D4, and being an ex-D3 owner I was hard pushed to go FF but glad I did, also wanted a V8...I don't need 7 seats and the FF is a nicer ride. Towing a large TA isn't an issue either Thumbs Up

Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

Surely the difference between D2 and 322 RR towing is inconceivable!!! The D2 was/is a great workhorse/tank but as far as driving/towing refinement is concerned... How could you possibly try to compare them???

And yes... I currently own both! So do have recent experience...

Was said " tongue in cheek" Craig! I know there will be no comparison, before I had the D2 Alive remapped, we were coming home from the lakes over shap summit, and almost had to drop to 3rd! It was blowing a gale and raining but didn't stop a FF, pulling a TA go past me like I was standing still!!
Gary sorted me out with a great remap but the seed was sown!!
I've had two classics but this is in a different league! So love it......................................

The RR is awesome as a tow car, the van is 2400kg.

No problems. We've been all over the place with it, and took it on the Ferry to Ireland a couple of years ago. Don't know its on the back!

I am always fearful of that statement and it's used way too much, "so how does your car tow"...reply "Oh I don't know it's on the back"...

I do much of my longer mileage (france, lux, belgium, germany, italy, austria, holland) with the 'van on and I notice it each and every second. Whether it's been towed, over the years with a D1, D2, D3, A8, XC90, 90/110 and now FFRR...they all notice it. The only difference is that the FFRR/D3 are so heavy they OWN the situation. I haven't had the level of outfit confidence with anything else...so when I keep saying I want another A8 or a Toerag THIS is the main reason I stay with LR.

Nice to see towing mirrors too chaps....I have never sacrificed safety on the back of the RR being 'so good' you don't need to pay attention.

BTW - Not a pop at anyone this, just a comment Thumbs Up Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

We nearly put a deposit down on one of those Eternitis at the Caravan Show last year. They were doing 0% finance with a 50% deposit. We'd just bought the static, so missed out by a week!

Not long after, they called in the receivers. Such a shame. Lovely van and would say the best at the show.

Yep tows the t/a no sweat. More stable than most things on the road, though actually the 535d pulled harder, but wasn't as stable at a cruise. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
