Quick question.

Trying to trace a slight knock and had a shake of the suspension components, noticed that the front drive shafts on both sides had slight play in them when shaken. Not a lot, less than a mm, nothing rotational, tight as a drum that way, but I could shake them a tiny bit. Am I right in thinking that this is normal wear? Or should it not move in any direction at all?

Don't know if it should do it but mine do the same, it doesn't knock though....

The knock I had that sounded just like it was coming from the front, turned out to be rear hub bushes...!!!

Maybe worth a check, you need a big pry bar to put some pressure on them to check for play, preferably with the wheels off the ground... Pete

Didn't necessarily think it was the cause of the knock, just noticied when I was under there, but I agree the upper hub bushes at the back are on my list.

Are the shafts telescopic? Maybe I can feel the inside moving against outer part. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

No but the CV's have linear movement to allow them to change length as the suspension rises and falls... Pete
