Help - Mantec bash plate, cant fit, missing a mounting point

Hi All,
Need some help... I ordered a bash plate (front sump guard) from Mantec. It arrived and my simple (4 bolt) fitting went South when I discovered the old owner has managed to "remove" (?) one mounting point. LR in Brisbane (Australia) said they cant help - referred me to a crash repairer; Crash repairer (reputable Brisbane one) said "No" its classified as a repair to the front cross member so we can't do it. (Structurally its fine, just a License thing they said).

So, I guess I need to find a wrecked L322 and remove the part - metal plate per photos) (as LR dont seem to classify it as a "part") or make something up (I'd prefer to use this as the mounting point than try and mount alterantively); and then find a friend who will weld it on......anyone help with the plate in the UK????
cheers
Chris

I'm sure there would be plenty blacksmiths, welders, metal workers outwit the LR or Crash Repair scene who are local to you who could fabricate something for you. I really don't see any problem having it made as it's just a lump of metal

That is part of the front subframe not the engine main frame at the front. it is just a plate welded on, it won't be available separately. If your having trouble getting someone to do it on the car then take it off and take it to a welding shop and say you want it to look like the other side... Bumper crash bar, and a few other bits off and it unbolts

Or get a second hand one from a breaker... Pete

It's just a flat plate. Any metal fabricator car knock that up for you in 1/2 hour. Get a bit of cardboard and cut to the same shape as the one you have (ie trace it and cut it out), then offer it up to make sure it fits the other side. The bit of cardboard will be the template for making the new bracket.

Any metal fabricator or a decent back street garage can cut it out of an off cut of steel for you and drill the hole in it. I think i would try a workshop that deals with heavy Plant or Lorries as they're more likely to have that sort of gauge steel sitting in the scrap bin. At a guess i reckon it would take under an hour to cut it out with an angle grinder and weld it on.

Failing that just buy a complete second hand front frame and replace it as a whole.
