Thy look good clean - I washed mine last week - then drove home through France & it's covered in dead insects again Embarassed

2 weeks of lockdown now, so it's inevitable that I wash it again......

Took New Shiney to the stealer yesterday to get its 5 year service. All went to plan and they did the diff oils for me as well. It gets changed on the locking diffs, but not on the open ones....

When I asked the difference in price there was none, so I pointed out that it would be nice if they did mine too given that they were defacto charging me.....

New MOT ticket on it as well, and a nice little video too of the underside which all looked nice and dry. New shiny has also had the warranty extended. I’m not normally a warranty fan but decided that as it hadn’t been used much in the year since I’ve had it there may be something lurking in the depths which may raise its head on a long run.

It also got a nice full valet included which was nice. It was filthy. Now it’s shiny and all hoovered out. deliberately removed absolutely everything from the car so they had no excuse, they removed all the Mats, fully hoovered it and wiped everything down. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Had a text the other week for a random registration, from DVLA saying the MoT was due. Took a second to realise but it’s the red Fattie, on a new plate obviously when you ask for a reminder for an MoT then the system updates to the new Reg.

Interesting but now I know that the old car is on a Reg starting R321! So I can keep a beady eye out for it, and see if it passes etc!!

Is it wrong to stalk your old cars..... Big Cry Whistle There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Censored Censored Censored Cracked windscreen.

Don’t even know how it happened. It wasn’t there in the morning when I went to the corner shop.....

When I got back in to drive down to Oxford there was a 6” crack in the bottom drivers side. Which by the time I got there was 9” long and creeping.

Looks like it’s definitely beyond fixing with Gavin’s special resin, so it will have to be a new screen. I looked at the crack and it looks like it started with a tiny stone chip, nothing significant and crept from there. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Had a cracked screen once with my Disco 1. Got a new screen fitted and then went to drive out through the village and a truck coming the other way, threw up a stone. Another cracked screen. Fortunately my insurance company believed me when I explained.

I’ve had a few done over the years, last was on a 322 and tbh Autoglass did a bang up job. It’s just going to annoy me that it doesn’t say RANGE ROVER in the corner any more, and will now say pilkington.....hopefully...... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I had two L405 windscreens fitted by Autoglass last week and I requested one as genuine and it came with the Range Rover logo, the other came as a Pilkington.

Not sure if we specified Genuine for this or they just couldn't get one, I let them fit it as it was Pilkington so good quality (or identical to Genuine).

I have asked them for a Pilkington one, so we will see what turns up. They can’t do it until next Friday though as it needs to go to a depot so they can do it properly. Apparently it’s in a Morrissons car park, so I’m assuming it is a “Pod” unit. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

If you like keeping your fattie or indeed any other car nice and shiny without the need to polish it every other week. Then try COBALT from autosmart. It's absolutely fantastic. Every time you wash your car, after rinsing it just spray COBALT on the body panel while it's still wet and wipe down dry with a microfibre cloth, not with a shammy. It leaves it looking sparkling and after each use it gets better and better. Leaves no swirl marks or streaks and even use it on the windows and plastic trim so when it rains it just beads off. I've been using it for the last few weeks on my fattie and works Van after I was recommended it by another driver. It truly is amazing stuff. I bought 5 litres for £20 from Taunton Deane North services on the M5, the truck wash. I recommend you all get some and try it yourself. It will make washing the fattie a whole lot easier. Post on here if you buy some and tell us what you think after a few uses.

New screen went in today, in fairness Autoglass have made a neat job, all the seals and trims are sitting nicely. The only thing the damages was a trim screw cover, and they have ordered me another one and will come to me to fit it.

In terms of screen. That was a bit more annoying. They hadn’t got a pilkington one. So I’ve had an AGC one. I’ve done a bit of Googling on AGC or Asahi Glass, they are a Japanese glass manufacturer who are the OEM for Lexus and many other brands, in addition they are a subsidiary of Mitsubishi. So I’m less bothered about the different brand knowing that the screen I have is made by a Japanese company.

That said, it was mentioned by one of the fitters that quite a few manufacturers including LR are fitting Fuyao screens as branded oem now. That also included BMW. So owners of new fatties go and have a look. Are they still Pilkington! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
