Sidelight indicator stays on despite all lights off

I always have my lights control switch set to "auto". This means that if the lights are on when you turn the engine off the lights will be switched off, too. After coming home from work yesterday and again today I noticed that the green sidelight indicator lamp on the dash remains on even though I have switched the engine off and all lights are actually off. If I turn the lights control switch to the sidelight position and then back to "auto" the green sidelight indicator lamp then extinguishes.

I'm sure it has only done this for the last two days. Anyone experience this before? Daylight running lights are disabled on my car. The last few days have been wet here so I wondered if it could be an electrical problem maybe... 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 automatic (LHD), Santorini Black
