But I want to use the led/halos as you described in an earlier post. So Halos as DRL's and to go off when the low beams are on.
The center led I want to use as replacement for the fog light. That would mean deviating from your earlier post right? 2002 L322 V8

it does sound like hot and cold monitoring causing the flickering Pieter...you wouldnt go wrong in investing in an iidtool tbh.. ... - .- -.

The drl halo's would be wired as my previous post independently from the projector lights.
Each projector light would be wired as follows using a 4 pin relay.

Terminals 85 and 86 of the relay would be connected to the existing foglight connector.
Doesn't matter which way round.
You may or may not need a resistor in one of the wires depending on whether a "bulb out" message is displayed.

Terminal 30 of the relay would be connected to the battery or any other permanently live +12V supply under the bonnet through a fuse.

Terminal 87 of the relay would be connected to the +ve connection of the projector light.
The other terminal of the projector light would be connected to earth.

I can't see why this shouldn't resolve the flickering problem caused by feedback from the bulb monitoring system as it totally isolates the monitoring circuit from you new lights.

It is my opinion that most things added to these cars should be fed through relays to avoid such problems.

Before purchasing the required relays you could borrow a relay from the rear fuse board and wire up one of the projector lights on a temporary basis to check things work as intended.

As stan says a IID tool is a good idea but I've managed to-date without one.

5A should be ok, led's are normally only only 3-4W usually.

If you have Hid headlights as opposed to tungsten halogen there is an ignition switched wire to each headlight. I used one for my Drl's. Can't remember the colour of the wire but I can have a look in the morning in daylight for you.
I've never really poked about in the E box, too many screws to undo on the lid to get access.
I don't doubt there is an ignition source in there, will have to have a look.

Unfortunately I have the halogen headlights (both dim and main).... So not sure if that uses the same set of cables as your HIDs..

Also some photo's of my set-up... Almost the same as Stan's except for the old rubber I used, which made a very nice and tight fit.

Unfortunately tungsten headlights don't have an ignition feed.
The good news however is there is an ignition feed in the E box which is readily accessible.
If you take the lid off the box, in the front left corner of the box facing the car there is a blue relay in the corner with a 5 way beige fusebox next to it.
The fuse box is supplied with an ignition feed from the blue relay which means that all the outputs from the fusebox are ignition controlled.
If you put your finger under the fuseboard you can lift it up clear of the E box. because of the cables the blue relay will also lift up.
On the underside of the fuseboard is a Red/Blue wire, this is the most convenient cable to splice into.

There you have it.

Tomorrow i will try the center LEDs with the 4 pole relais...
