Dismantle headlight

Hi, I'm new to this forum. Just bought a FF 07 TDV8 Vogue - had it since Saturday.

Today I noticed that there was a loose "fitting" inside the LH headlight unit. In the "High beam fill in lamp section there is a loose round fitting element - see the Picture below:

I've tried to dismantle the unit, by removing the Clips:

But I can't manage to split the headlight unit (behing the front glass) so that I can fix this loose element. And I can't find a description of how to do this in the Workshop manual either.

Anyone that have had a similar issue, and knows how to open the hedlight unit to fix this?

Oh, thanks, didn't think of that

I found this one for a BMW:

But I haven't found a similar for a L322. I observe that there are 2 screws going into the glass/lens, but I can't figure out how to get to these screws. Anyone done a dismantle on a L322 (with AFS - if thats an factor?) ? Is it straigh foreward, just use a heat blower and patience?

Thanks, Stan - I searched for "Headlights" on the forum, and missed out the wiki...
Fantastic to have such guidelines!

The L332 has its faults (I've ordered a new FSR to see if that fixes the battery drainage, and a new compressor, and new bonnet and tailgate struts, and an IID BT tool), but I'm really looking forward to take on these tasks. The joy of driving the L322 compensate for all of that !

Did you repair the loose fitting around the fill in lamp ? I have noticed the same problem on my car.

Any advice would be most welcome.

Depending on how far it has become detached? There is a chance you can remove the light, take the full beam bulb out and hook/reattach the offending trim with either long nose pliers or even a long reach medical grips through the bulb hole

Worth a try

Yes, I just followed the descriiptions in the wiki and the youtube video; used a hot air blower and gently removed the gllass, I then glued the loose reflector in place. Not as difficult as I thought, avtually!

Hi Guys,

Will have a go at the weekend, is it difficult to remove the Headlight unit and what do I need to watch out for ?

New to the RR as I only picked it up last weekend and am on a steep learning curve.

undo 3 screws and 1 power plug...put something on the bumper below the headlight unit so you dont scratch it when 'wiggling' it out... ... - .- -.

Hi all,

Problem solved, the dealer replaced the front headlight free of charge, I am over in England on holidays from next week and on my return will have a go at stripping down the old unit.
