Blackvue 650 dual channel installation

I'm about to fit a blackvue dual channel.

I'm after a permanent live to connect to.

In the D4 I used a piggy back fuse and fuse 41

Has any one fitted one in th FF and what fuse did you use and how did you route the cables, which is the easiest route?

I'm thinking it's the clock fuse, fuse 40, can anyone confirm?

I found a thread that showed some of the info, but I can't find it again Embarassed AKA DiscoDunc

sorry, another Q

im sorted fitting the front camera, but when looking at the rear window for the second channel - im struggling to see the best way to fit it..

any ideas? has anyone managed to get the cables through the grommets into the roof lining and down the D-Pillar ?, or do you go across the roof ?

I really wanted the camera on the window, rather than the roof lining Confused AKA DiscoDunc

I ran the wires across the roof lining on the passenger side when I installed the rear one in mine. Regards

if your second camera is waterproof , have you considered mounting it next to the outside reverse camera and routing the cable via the roof trim and then down into the off side cubby.. ... - .- -.

Don't remember mine going through the roof lining. I think it runs inside/behind the tailgate seal into the car by the passenger side rear speaker through left hand side of the back seat where it joins other wires under the tread plates. Then along through to the passenger side A pillar where is rises to the top of the screen where there is a void it sits behind for it to travel to the rear view mirror? I positioned my front facing camera on the passenger side of the rear view mirror. In hindsight I should have placed it drivers side as it would be easier to plug/unplug.

Don't forget BlackVue recommend formatting the card every week or so rather that letting it constantly overwrite. Apparently this helps with dropped frames.

Not a great description I know, but the long and short of it is I don't recall having to mess around with the roof lining.

Mine goes through the roof lining.
I went from the front left pillar(right hand drive) to the back and goes through the rubber cable gland and comes out just near the rear tailgate brake light.
It's very neat.
I used a plastic tongue to get through the roof line every easily.
It's flexible and stiff enough to get through. Took me 5 mins.
It took longer to get up from behind the glove box to the top of the pillar.
I had to remove the pillar cover.
Also I had to remove the rubber seal on the back door opening to get the tongue through the roof and out the back.
