I've just bought a tdv8 and under load eg accelerating on motorway I'm getting some black smoke is there anything I can check or do please Spencer.

Is it the 4.4 TDV8? If so it will be the turbo oil return pipe. This needs to be modified and is covered by various threads on here. Unfortunately if the car is out of warranty JLR will probably not cover the cost and it is a big job.

If its a 3.6 then check for split hoses. But as said above! Iff you have just purchased it, why not take it back and ask for it to be rectified?

Could be something simple like a filthy/blocked air filter could be something major as already pointed out.

If you've just bought it, then it's probably work taking it back, especially if it's from a dealer.

Checked air filter replaced it as was dirty and both hoses from inter cooler were split replaced them no more smoke onto other jobs!😟
