Emergency lower tail gate release

Can somebody explain to me, idiot fashion, how to open the bottom tail gate using the emergency release, I've looked at a couple of posts, saying there is a way by feeling down the edge of the tail gate for a paddle or push button, but I can't seem to find anything.

The car is a 2011 vogue

Regards and Merry Christmas everybody Thumbs Up

Ian

You have to have long fingers.

Go to the top edge (left or right) of lower tailgate, push finger down the gap between tailgate and body and you'll find a small plastic leaver, press down on it.

This is the way I have to open my lower tailgate as my tailgate switch doesn't work.
