OBD reader - alternates to IIDTool - Foxwell & iCarsoft?

Hi,

appreciate that IIDTool is the forum's favourite - but simply can't afford one.

Does anyone have any experience with either the Foxwell NT530
http://www.foxwelltool.com/wholesale/lates...dated.html

or

iCarsoft LR V2.0
http://www.diagnostic-world.com/pages/list...tem_129811

Thanks

Lynx

"Programming - such as alarm settings, key fobs etc. on selected models"

Does it do keys for L322?

Is the Evo VIN locked to a single vehicle?

I would vote for the Icarsoft v2.0 2019 version.
Bought it other day, It solved my p2096 lean code that car had since I bought it from previous owner.
It can recalibrate throttle position (that was my problrm), bleed abs, calibrate steering angle, read live data, etc.
It seems to me like a very good diagnostic to always carry it in the car Cool RR HSE 4.4 2006 LPG

More success than I've had with the Evo so far. Wink

Reviving an old thread .....

.....start of rant......
i’ve lost count of the bloody mickey mouse disgnostics and decent brand specific diags i’ve got in my filing cabinet drawer.
Raised my vehicle the other day (door open) to take a look at *whatever the hell was wrong with it this time*

I then lowered the vehicle and I got an air suspension inactive message, I didnt disconnect power to the car so I knew it wouldnt be the steering angle sensor reset.

Everything else i have is brand specific I couldnt use those, None of my generic readers, or my CARLY reader would even find anything else apart from the engine ecu....ended up driving to my local garage to have them plug in their snap on device, find the air suspension setting and clear the CANBUS error. I only raised the bloody thing with in the jack, in the same place I always do ??

Also if I could have read the live data when i was having fuelling issues, would have saved me lots of faff driving to the a diesel specialist to read the fuel pressures for me !!

.....end of rant.......

The point being lol I am now also after a decent Land Rovee diag tool, but dont want to spend a fortune either.
I am after a tool that will read as many modules as it can find, like fuelling, air suspension, gearbox etc

Will the iidtool or britpart lynx can it read these successfully or can anyone confirm ?

The Lynx information sheet seems to suggest it will, on ebay I can see 2 models of the lynx. a DA1500 and a DA3600 which I guess are older models. I also see not on ebay the F007686 single vehicle for £255+vat amongst a whole array of different prices depending on what you want.

I went for the Icarsoft lrv2.0 simply because it's good value for my specific needs . I can reset the service indicator 2010 -2012 model so software reset needed . As i do my own servicing i needed to be able to do this and the couple of error codes i have had it solved so no complaints really . The only thing i would of liked would of been able to recalibrate the suspension which it can't do .
Overall i am happy with my purchase . 2011 tdv8 4.4 vogue Santorini black

I also purchased the icarsoft lrv2.0 with the 2020 updates. It read all of the 44 “ecu’s” on the car abs helped home pinpoint the issue. I also registered a new battery.
So it think it’s ok for fault reading and basic service items but not it you want to code or change settings. But then it’s only £136 delivered

Worth checking for firmware updates for these devices. Did that with our LR V2 earlyier in the year without any drama. It also allowed me to reset the engine service monitor on our 2009 FF and the service mode for the leccy hand brake. Handy tool to have around. Just don't pay full retail.
