You can clearly see a DIFFERENCE between the OE seals ( pic above & the part I have purchased ) and the New V2 seals - its as plain as day


I would suggest to anyone on this thread - USE the V2 version unit - there is a reason why LR has modified this pipe - there's always more to this than you might think

IS IT WORTH TAKING THE RISK - with O rings that we don't know too much about - drive along and its leaking !!!!!!

Not so plain to me - can you describe what difference you see please?

No one has reported the correct size O ring, but I am going to inspect mine this weekend to check for any signs of a leak because I am booked in for a service/MOT the following week and it will be my last chance to get any wok done under the LR Approved warranty.
I have bought a£40 endoscope off eBay so will hopefully be able to take pictures. I have found a local supplier of Viton O rings but need an old ring to take to get measured.
Has anyone got one?

Going to check mine tomorrow. Parked the car up tonight and noticed a few wisps of smoke in the headlamps as i walked away and could smell hot oil so i guess it will be leaking

Just checked mine and it is leaking. Did anyone ever find out the correct size O ring

Mine wasn't leaking when I checked it a couple of weeks ago, but I am still keen to find the correct size so I can get a supply ready for when it does leak. ( Ideally an old ring to take to the supplier I have found.)

Any update on part no's/sizes/material for the o rings please?

I have replace my twice, first time I used black rubber O ring, well that lasted only 5000 mi, finally i found local shop that could
make Viton O rings and so far they are holding. However , i have leak at oil cooler itself, i took the cooler apart i have ordered two gaskets from Dan. Hopefully that will fix the leak. O rings I used are 9.00x1.80 mm.

The previous owner of my car had to have the complete filter housing replaced under warranty due to an oil leak. It was a tiny crack in the casting which only showed when warm so he had already had the gasket changed twice previously due to the same leak. All good now  Paul

I sure hope. my only needs new gaskets. they do look flattened and hard.we will see.

Black stains on the driveway, then a sniff of burning oil, a quick look underneath, oil everywhere, so will check the pipe as discussed here. Did we ever substantiate the ring sealing toroidals dimensions??

O rings I used are ID 9.00mm x 1.8mm

n_n - did you get Viton versions?

Toroidals? did some engineering many moons ago..!
