Damaged drivers door seal...

I expect a few of you with old crates like mine will be familiar with this sight...

Well a new seal is around the �65 mark.... If you look on eBay it appears that they are handed and there are very few drivers side ones as they all end up looking like the above...

They are in fact the same seal for both front doors so buy a passenger side one, they are always in better condition as they get used a lot less, and it fits just fine...

Yep, no marks at all on it, shows how strong the wheels and tyres are....

For those wondering, we hit a rock in a ford up on the North York Moors, it was massive, probably over a foot high, the front nearside wheel hit it straight on, it was made of sandstone, it deformed the tyre off the rim enough to fill about 8" of the bead area with lumps of rock... It wasn't leaking at the time so we just carried on, the stones and bits worked their own way out and it was fine....

Had it popped off the rim and checked it and no damage at all to the tyre carcase or the wheel.... Pete

No sealant on them, they just grip the edge of the opening.... Pete

Stan... not caused by freezing... happens on all the cars I've had, being 6'5" means I have the seat all the way back, getting in and out means you rub against the seal every time, it only gets damaged in that particular place... Never happens in all the two doors I've had where the door opening is larger.... Thumbs Up Pete
