Will the car start?

How are you going to get it to the dealer?

no the car wont start or even illuminate the cluster .

already took it into the dealer this morning as we have 3 other range rovers and a car transporter trailer so no dramas .

when i took it in i said to the workshop manager that i suspect it will need a new KVM and he agreed but the bad news was he couldnt look at it for 3 weeks !!! due to these 4 RR's that all need engine replacements.

he did say however that if they get a cancellation or a tech becomes free then he will get them to have a look at it Rolling Eyes

Without an ignition light on or any key reaction at all, how do you get it out of park or release the handbrake, to get it onto your trailer?

Shocked

How do you get it out of park? The cable for the handbrake would not release that would it?

its not just for the parking brake , the cable disengages drive in the G/box as well. Worked for me hence the pictures above.

worse case scenario you will have to crawl under the car and move the cable lever manually to disengage

There is an emergency release for the handbrake (in the boot) and another for the gearbox (under the cupholders)

I had a D4 come in this week to replace a lost key (replacement ordered from Dan) a 2014MY and it would NOT code using IID... I then had this response from GAP...

This vehicle must have had the Land Rover update which prevents new keys from being programmed. This was implemented in order to reduce theft risk...

The only way to do it is to replace the KVM ECU and I do think this is covered by Land Rover. I suggest referring your customer to the dealership.

So, NO is the answer... it would appear JLR are finally getting this theft issue under control...

cheers Craig

They have advised that it will possibly need a new KVM which i suspected before Land Rover assist came out.

When i took the car in yesterday the girl on the desk advised me that my RR was due an update so will see how i get on with that Thumbs Up
