Thank you Weegie. Much appreciated. I'm moving to France permanently in 8 weeks and then off to Italy with my missus for 14 weeks (her job). Both cars are remaining in France for the duration.

Good idea but am I missing something, how do you spray the back of the discs to protect them while they are in situ on the car? |

Same area as before? @ nice day, should think you have to take the discs off. But then if it is for longer than just a week or so then OK. John 2008 Stornoway Grey 3.6 Tdv8 Vogue - SOLD 2005 TD6 Java Black Vogue - Written off!! GAP iiD BT-Sold |

But reading the description of one of the products it suggests it stops the brake pads sticking which implies the discs are left in situ on the car.

I'm not after a perfect solution, just something to minimize the natural build up of rust that occurs when a vehicle is left stationary for long periods. I expect the pads will still stick to the discs but I also expect the spray will make it easier to free the pads when the time comes to drive the car again. Travelling around in circles again. |

What about a car cover or something to cover the wheels, if water isn't getting on to the disc the rust won't be as extreme |

Covering the car won't help as the discs will develop surface rust from moisture in the air anyway.

Leave the handbrake off and then as mentioned a quick journey will remove the rust.
