CTEK + FFRR = BT failure . . . ?

It's probably just coincidence, but . . .

Used my new CTEK to charge up the battery through the cigarette lighter socket in the luggage compartment.

I let it do its thing overnight and the next morning when I went to start the car I got the frozen screen with the Land Rover logo and flashing orange light.

"Perfect!", I thought. "Only had the SC for nine days and something's gone wrong already."

I did the battery disconnect and hard reset routine to no avail; found the genius "biro bypass" thread on the forum and once the Bluetooth module had been bypassed, normal service was resumed.

So, we have correlation, but do we have causation?

Is it even possible that charging the battery could cause failure of the Bluetooth module?

Unusual for that to happen. Most likely fault is the water dripping and running into the connector on the BT module. Common issue and only way to fix is a new bt module (or bypass it altogether)
