@ holidaychicken

Yes Twisted Evil

Process for changing the waterpump on a TD6 and a 4.4V8 is quite different, and I guess for all later models too Smile

@ stew

my link will give you an idea of what is involved, but you will need RAVE/whatever for your model/year to know fully what is required Thumbs Up

Engine type will help others to help too Wink .

Well at least we know but my knowledge runs out at 2005, sorry ...
A pressure test will normally tell you if you have a leak in the cooling system and that's a fair amount of coolant that would normally leave some sign

I'd start with the radiator. Mine had leaked, but there was little visible evidence until I unbolted the fan shroud, eased it back and looked down the rad with a torch. Then it was obvious. Then I'd check the expansion tank, as these split.

Stew, as above... Rads leak, expansion tanks & caps and also the back of the engine oil cooler (the aluminium block under the oil filter cartridge) they have a habit of leaking on the firewall side through the pipework... Pop the engine cover off and closely inspect using a good torch, any staining inspect further pal Thumbs Up

Ive read thermostat housing can crack. It could have happened to mine, as service history lists a replacement being fitted by previous owner.

I also seemed to have had a slow coolant leak. The Indy pressure tested the cooling system but couldn't find a leak. I poked a cable camera around the top of the motor but found nothing. The Indy put some kind of stop leak into the coolant which seems to have fixed the loss

I would get the cooling system pressure tested, and consider something similar. ______________________________
