With the earlier L322 models they're so you can get in a warm car in the morning before the engine starts, they came with a remote, although according to webasto modern diesels don't give off much heat for the heater matrix so they put them in for heat when the car is running.

Sounds like you need the pump i replaced as per the thread 2007 Vogue TDV8 with 255/55/20's fitted |

well im new to all this tech stuff on these, so reading has prompted me to go try ours (didn't no i had such toys) so i've found said key fob, pressed the on button & just like magic i herd a fan kick in |

Since we’ve been having some very cold mornings, I decided to fire up the FBH a couple of times. Each time I try it, the fob goes green and I can hear it fire up but after a few minutes, it stops, having done no heating at all.

I would suspect it means your battery is not sufficient power to continue - the FBH is a big drain. |

I did think of that as a possibly but the car was fully charged via my C-tek charger. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
