Bluetooth phone connection

Hi

I have just agreed to buy a Vogue SE (November 06). When i test drove it, I pressed the phone button and it said something along the lines of phone not fitted. I should have asked when i got back but forgot.

Do you know if this model would have bluetooth phone connection?

If not is it something that can be retro fitted to the factory system?

Thanks

S2

It should have both bluetooth and hard wired via the centre console so that you can fit a nokia phone cradle ...

But you first have to pair it with a relevant bluetooth phone ........

The car kit is passive.

You may have to disconnect the cradle in the centre console by opening the main compartment (lift the clasp, rather than pressing it down) then there is an unlock lever to enable you to remove the cradle.

Then on your phone enable bluetooth and search for devices. You should see Land Rover select it and enter 2121 once pairing is complete you should connect it- may be wise to also within your phone's options effectively 'authorise' the LR so it connects when in range.

On that model you should also have phone book over bluetooth. This retrieves the call lists and phone book when you connect.it will take a good few seconds but you'll see the phone book icon on the phone screen turn black(it's greyed out when you first connect.)

Thanks Happy

I'm not sure it has a cradle. I did not really look for it specificaly but nothing stood out to me when having a general look around. Is it 100% that this model would have bluetooth phone?
It was when i pressed "phone" on the touch screen it said something like "not installed".

Mine also says not installed when the Phone is not paired and connected. Pair from the phone end and you should be ok, but to be safe, do it before complete the purchase and if it does not work you can renegotiate the price a little.

You're welcome.

Yes the Vogue SE has the Bluetooth Phone (at least every one I've ever seen has!)

As above, try to pair it first.

Cheers

If the phone is not in the cradle which is in the centre armrest it will say something like phone removed , and have you tried to pair a handset via bluetooth with the car

There was a software upgrade that came out that allowed access to the contact directory of your phone, came out in about 2008. Chances are you don't have and the dealer will want to charge you a standard fee to upgrade your car.

It's a personal choice whether you need it and its worth paying for. Good luck. Discovery 4 HSE

I believe that "wigs" on this forum offers a replacement service where you get a new Bluetooth module and send him your old one. It costs £60. It should give you contacts and a more robust connection.

As with most of above that's simply what the system displays when a phone has not been paired with the system. The car will have Bluetooth as they all have and would not have the screen you saw if it didn't.
