I'm in the process of tracking down a front end suspension squeak which is much noticeable in warm weather. Having had similar before with my Sport the ARB bushes are my main suspect.

However when under the car this morning I've noticed that there's movement in the front lower front control arm large bush - I get some movement when I twist the control arm by hand, wheels on the ground.

My question is should there be any movement of this in these bushes or should they be pretty resistant to any attempt to twist them like this?

I've no knocks etc so far from the front end but thinking about it does feel more floaty and imprecise over bumps and twisty roads.

The part circled should be able to be moved by twisting, but no 'free' movement - and should bounce back if a pry bar is used to deflect it (needs wheel off the ground to check properly).

That particular bush has quite a bit of movement and is easily flexed by hand by grabbing the arm and pushing back and forth.

ARB bushes on the L405 are dead easy unlike the old L320 Sport which were a PITA. I did mine a few months back. I'd say it only took about 30 mins. Kev

Thanks for the replies chaps. On that basis I think the front arm bushes are perfectly normal then!

I replaced the ARB bushes this afternoon. Yes you're right Kev, a doddle compared to the L320

FYI there is a revised ARB bush from JLR available... Has a return surface on the revised bush

I did notice a different bush pictured for cars from VIN JAxxxxxx but mine is earlier than that. I did buy the bushes a couple of weeks ago from my local LR main dealer so I assumed that they would supply the latest revision of the part.
