I'm getting used to the FFRR slowly but can I ask, should the flappy paddles work in 'D' as mine don't, it suggests in the handbook they should...

To get them to work I have to be in 'S'.

Also, the memory function on the seats - I have to press and prod quite a lot to get the 'M' to illuminate to set the memory function, is this normal? Starting to worry I've got a car with dodgy electrics already and it's only a month old..

Can anyone confirm if this is a fault or normal? (2021 71 plate Westminster D300)

Steering wheel paddle shifts: Allow manual gear selection while the selector is in either the D or S position. Lightly pull the left-side paddle shift for down-shifts. Lightly pull the right-side paddle shift for up-shifts. The paddle shifts can be effective when rapid acceleration and engine braking are required. A gearshift indicator warning lamp illuminates briefly at the recommended (up-shift) gear change point. With D selected, each manual gear change via the steering wheel paddle shifts is temporary. The manual gear change is held while the driver is accelerating, decelerating, cornering, or continually requesting manual gear changes. See GEARSHIFT (GREEN).

There’s an option in the menu to have them only available in S. With car running in P enter the menu via steering wheel button and navigate to the appropriate menus.

OK, thank you for your replies, I have found the setting in the menu for the paddle change and selected both D & S which now works for me.

I'm still confused about the memory button for the seats though, sometimes it works and sometimes not, I can't see anything that says it won't operate at all times if the car is on. The button lights up when pressed, or should do, but mine doesn't always.

To recall memory function you should only have to press the number button to which position you want. By pressing the M button you are overwriting the position stored.

Try this: Switch on car. Press M, release M then press 1. This position is now stored as 1. Move seat all the way back, press M, release M then press 3. This position is now stored as 3. So, from this position only press 1, this should move the seat forward to position 1.

Yes, I do that but the issue is not the process or sequence, it's the M button not doing anything. So, if I want to set position 2, 3 or 4 for someone other than me (through a long process I have set 1 for me) they adjust the seat, then press M then a number other than 1.

When M is pressed it changes colour, then there's a beep when the number is pressed effectively setting that position. It's the pressing of the M to set a new position that doesn't always work.

It's like the M button is faulty, sometimes it works and sometimes not. I wondered if it was a case of 'they all do that' before I get it booked in for a check.
