I've got one on my bike, i'm not sure it will be long enough to reach the front grille. Probably just hang it over the side of the wing? The optimate is fine for my ffrr. Ian

I bought one tonight just for the hell of it, it looks like it's a pretty well made charger, I like the idea of the detachable clips. I'm going to try it on my Mini, it's in the garage with a Halfords auto charger connected permanently via a timer plug so it comes on 1 hour in the morning and an hour at night .

I'll test the Lidl one on it for a week or 2 and see if it keeps the battery in good health. 2006 Mercedes CLS

It's a great little device and kept a previous car I wan't using topped up for months (and that is the point here, "topped up" I'm not sure it would charge).

For ease, I was hoping to use the cig lighter adapter for charging but if I read this post correctly the lighter is dead when the ECU goes to sleep Correct?

If that's the case, I will need to connect straight to the battery.

Same for me. The wires trailing are a pain at all levels.

The Maplin solar powered trickle charger is first rate for keeping a good, charged battery topped up. The question (for me) is whether to plug into the cig lighter or go direct to the battery. The latter being a bit more time consuming!! 2006 4.2 SC

I have 4 around the garden on mains voltage but no reason why they couldn't be wired to 12V dc as a supply for charging a car battery.

I desire your garage, do you offer it as a holiday let for Range Rover owners? I could use the ramp for routine inspection services and then sleep in the back......
