DRL wiring

Hi. I am fitting some Osram DRL / fogs to my 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE, and i need a feed to make the DRL active upon running of the engine. i believe that all the other wires connect to the wiring loom of the headlight to make the DRL turn off when the normal lights are on. Can anyone tell me where is best to connect the DRL feed to.

Many thanks,
Chris

for the feed to switch off drls when headlight is on, use the blue and slate wire that runs to the headlight... ... - .- -.

After 'borrowing' your high beam and side vent ideas Finally got one in before you Smile
Are you specifically looking at the Osram fogs/drl or drl's in the headlights?

I would prefer them in the headlight just like L405 but that might be too ambitious unless I can get my hand on cheap replacement ones. Current:

Well, i fitted the Osram DRL fogs yesterday. They are really good. I wired the white wire (which turnes them off when the headlights are on) to the blue / grey wire are recommended by the guy who kindly replied to my post. This was a great help to me instead of testing all the wires. As it was difficult to get doen to the plug on the headlights, i tapped into the wiring loom next to the fuse box on the left side of the engine bay (Drivers side UK). There is an earth point to the body just in front of the fuse box, and a thick red battery love in the fuse box.

I wired the ignition live to the blue / red wire on the front right plug in the fuse box. All the wiring was kept together and loom taped up. The control box sits lovely just above where the air intake for the air filter goes. What a great kit. I covered the fogs in Lamin-x smoke tint to prectect them from stone impact also.

Hi, reviving an old thread I've ordered some combination DRL/Fog lights similar to these. The Fog light part uses the existing connector then there are two wires that are for the DRL.

My car is a 2010 so has the standard not very bright factory DRLs - I'd like to keep those and add the new fog DRLs too.

I assume that I need the same connections mentioned above but just wondering if I can take an ignition live from the existing headlight wiring? also does anyone know if the 2010 headlights the headlight on wire is still blue and slate or did that change?

I think what I want is for the new foglight DRLs to go off when the headlights go on rather than to stay on and dim.
Many thanks

Thank you Stan, much appreciated. Do you think it would be pins 14 and 11 that I’d need. I’m struggling a bit with the logic of what the two angel eye wires need to connect to.

Many thanks

personally i would buy a drl switch and wire that to an ignition live and most drl switchs have a function where you wire in a headlight feed to it so when the headlights go on the switch switches off the drl..

but if you're to worried about that then wire the drl lights directly to an ignition live feed then they will be on all the time when the FF is running ie with and without headlights on.. ... - .- -.
