So my driver side door handle parted company with the unclocking cable. I ordered the new cable and removed the door card to get at the cable . However affter a faff I decided it would be easier to remove the door lock and handle. So lock and handle off got the new cable fitted (much easier access with the handle off).

Eventually get it all back together, handle now opens the door, decided to check the lock with the key, and it won't lock or unlock the door. When re assembling the lock and handle it seemed quite straightforward sliding the lock back in. Quite stumped as to what has happened, the lock worked prior to being removed.

Help or pointers appreciated.

Took the lock out, and found the issue, a blast with some wd40 and operated as normal, put back in and all works as it should.

BTW Re[placing the broken cable was a bit of a pain but once the door handle is off, its a very easy fix. You have to remove the airbag so a little care is needed.
