Has anyone used an HID kit to upgrade their fog lights?

Do the HID upgrade, they are far superior, and second best wont cut it............. |

I'm guessing you know you can get fined for using them in certain cases as they are only to be used in adverse weather ........... Law RVLR regs 25 & 27 |

However - one can use them as driving lights when used in conjunction with main beam. Although technically I think they have to be wired to only come on with main beam... I wouldnt drive through a town with them on, I want them for the increased visability...

You could change them to LED foglight bulbs to give brighter whiter light and probably about a tenner? |

OK, from reading up on it online and from what you guys have said - HID is not the way to go. Wrong beam pattern etc.

I'm ashamed to say, when I was a nipper, I had 80w/100w H4 headlight bulbs in the Mini, they had the blue glass on the bulbs, they were a really bright white, wrecked the headlights due to the extra heat and almost set fire to the wiring due to the extra current.

Its similar to the standard fog light bulb. In as much that the tip is coated so that the light is thrown to the reflector and not just anywhere. |

Sorry to piggy back this thread but if i use LEd fogs (2002 l322) (main reason being i have a set that fit into the 2010 fog unit) will i need to use resistors to prevent dash error message. I'm guessing the answers yes as per evry led upgrade!! |
