Intermittent exhaust temperature sensor fault? Any advice?

I keep getting limp mode and the fault code p042D-00. I had a dpf issue so had that gutted and sent the ecu off to have an egr and dpf delete done. I keep getting this fault coming up now saying bank one sensor 2 input too high. I think that’s the sensor near the dpf. I disconnected the sensor and it’s exactly the same. I thought by disconnecting the sensor it would have had engine management light on and limp mode straight away but it doesn’t. I’m a bit stuck on where to go so any ideas would be great.

Is there anything I need to do after refitting the ecu? I was told the egr blank is just done through the ecu

My understanding is that there's a physical blanking required.
Loads of posts about it and EGR blanking kits available to buy. Makes sense that it should be blanked if deleted.
