You can turn the folding feature off with an IID tool sir |

It certainly looks like it just needs some lubrication. Passenger mirror is the worse. Neither are bad, I'd just prefer to sort it before something breaks.

I run my mirrors fully up and down and from side to side occasionally to ensure that the motors still operate when required. In the past I have found that if the mirrors are set in the same position for a long time they don't work presumably due to the motors having sized. |

Thanks nicedayforit. Not sure that will help with the folding mechanism though! That gets exercised every time I lock it.

I had this problem, followed the advice given and now lubricate every six months. Problem gone.

I guess it could be any heavy oil lubricant, but this one does not wash out and works well on the deployable side step joints also. There’s an alloy grove visible when u push the mirror forward, I lube this also. |

kooky_guy, after one or two car washes i use dry PTFE spray lubricant.
