Td6 egr delete ?

Hey folks just asking on my td6 i can blank the egr or do a full removal ? If i were to remove it all including the cooler what do i do with the water pipe that feeds onto that small black thermostat thingy on top of the egr cooler as the thermostat thingy is leaking any way around one of the 10mm bolts that holds it to the egr cooler do i just blank that water feed pipe too thanks folks

I saw these bungs a while ago but cant work out how they fit. From memory i think a 15mm cap with a jubilee clip has been used by others.

The easiest way do an egr delete is to fit what Stan suggests above and leave all the egr cooler gubbins in place.

To guarantee there is no water circulation through the egr cooler thermostat you need to undo the top right water connection and slide a piece of 12mm threaded stainless steel rod or a cut off bolt about 20mm long into the exposed end of the plastic egr thermostat and refit the pipe. The 12mm insert is a good push fit with a couple of rounds of ptfe tape round it and can't dislodge as the water flow holds it in place. This results in no water flow through the egr thermostat what ever it's operating condition.

A bit of bodge I know but a good one that works and saves all the work in removing the egr cooler etc. Thumbs Up

You can remove the egr cooler gubbins at a later date when you come to replace the engine thermostat. Very Happy
