Agreed re speedo readings - my last L322 was out by 3mph at 100 = 3%.

Just put 255/55/20 On my 4.4 tdv8 and it doesn't make any difference to the gearbox but on my 3.6 with the same size tyres , it would hold onto a lower gear at low speeds ( 60kph) but it was hardly noticeable. 2015 4.4 AB

not finding the 255s protect the rim in any way. hence looking at 265 or 275s . Cheers, Greg - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 2011 Vogue SE 4.4 with lots of toys in Stornaway |

You could also lower the suspension settings permanently with IID tool if you wanted a smaller gap between tyre and wheel arch.

255/ 55 sidewall is taller than standard 255/ 50 by. 12.75 mm and do better protect the rims. Also all terrain tyres have a deeper tread, normally 10mm. That's what I have fitted and no kerbing worries for me. ![]() |

that small gap under the blue line on Paul's 275s is 3.75mm Kind weird such a small amount would be even noticeable but my blue guidelines show it up. Rob - ![]() Grofus I haven't looked at 255/55 vs 255/50 yet. Post up a side view of yours? I'm well used to it but there's a certain pressure of London traffic / parallel parking you want/need to get into spaces asap and the weight of the car even it idle rolling speed the can push the rim into the kerb as soon as the tyres touch the stone. So I really want the width over sidewall height but I'll check out the 55 vs 50. Paul cheers that would be great. Anyone else out there running the Uniroyals Paul has? They look very good to me. . If you are that worried why not just go 285/50/20 - i’ve got a set of those in Cooper AT3 for the shooting season as well as the 22” Turbines on 275/40/22. You have then got both width and tyre wall height 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17 |
