I think I picked the hottest day of the year :rolllaugis h: , but today I have replaced my battery.
I have fitted a Varta G14 019 AGM , but not told the car yet, ie I have not yet reset the charging module.
Theses are the readings immediately after completion.

I had it ready to use, but Popeye just took a deep breath, grabbed the handles and lifted the old one out and the same fitting the new one.

Please could someone post a picture of the red plastic cover for the + ve terminal on a 4.4tdv8.
Mine wasn’t covering the lug, just attached to the battery lead with a bit of plastic tie.
I was too hot after putting it all back together to investigate further, but will take another look tomorrow PM.

Something else worth a mention.
On the negative lug, their is a plastic plug with 2 very thin wires .
I couldn’t get the plug to part from the socket, but managed to move the whole lug and negative cable to the side whilst the battery was lifted out and the replacement dropped in place.

Also,
Nino, did you say yours didn’t have a cooling fan on the back of the unit.

I was wondering the same thing, my doesnd't have cooling fan. i did find this plugs behind the battery.

John/ Nino,
One possible explanation?
Early 4.4’s were not factory fitted with AGM batteries, but were re-called to upgrade from lead acid to AGM.
Maybe they decided fan was not necessary once they started fitting AGM’s ?

Their is no way that the red plastic terminal cover is ever going to fit properly on my car.
